The marching band and color guard season has wrapped up for the fall. As a group, the ensemble finished 9th place overall out of 12 bands with a score of 82.00, which was the highest score they earned this season, and at any championships event in recent years. The percussion was 5th place overall, and the color guard was 6th place overall. All of this was quite an improvement, consider the group was ranked 10th overall on the grid leading into the event, and went on first out of the entire contest. The competitive field is quite tough, and it was an honor to be ranked among the top 12 finalist, out of 22 3A bands in SCSBOA. Several outstanding programs did not qualify for championships this year, and it was an honor to share the playing field with 11 other amazing programs.
After a solid performance at Moorpark yesterday, we were waiting for "the call" to hear that we officially advanced to SCSBOA 3A Championships. The Marching Band and Color Guard have advanced to the SCSBOA 3A Championships being held at Colony High School next Saturday, November 17, 2018. Simi Valley High School performs at 6pm. We hope to see a sea of maroon and gold in the audience as we are the first band to take the field and set the standard for the evening!
